Tanzania has a rich cultural diversity, as there are more than 120 different tribes living in different regions around the country. Each tribe has his own unique way of life, characteristics as clothes and decorations, ancient tribal languages and their long history keep their traditional way of life until today. If you are into learning and experiencing the unique way of life of unique tribes, that are still living in the old traditional way of life like the Maasai tribe and the Hadzabe tribe, you can join us for our cultural tours. On the tour, you will have a chance to learn deeply about the tribes’ life, as you visit their place of residence. You will be able to know about their special techniques that they use for their daily life, learn about their history and beliefs, and be a witness to their tribal dance.

The Maasai is one of the most famous tribes in Africa. With their noticeable appearance, wearing colorful robes which set them apart, the people of the Maasai still keeping their ancient way of life. They have a special tribal language called Maa, and they live in their traditional Maasai Bomas. The Maasai are relying on their herds of cows and goats for livelihood. In this tour, you will get a chance to visit the Maasai Bomas and experience firsthand their ways of life, daily routines, and traditions such as dancing style, singing style, medical & herbs practice, and to learn how they use the natural resources for their own good as they live in the unforgiving conditions of the wilderness. On this trip, you can do it as a day trip or you can overnight in the villages and experience more of their traditions and culture.

Rift Valley at the base of Serengeti plateau. Several indigenous tribes, whose still living in their own ancient traditional way of life, living around the lake. One of the tribes that live around the lake over 10 thousands of years, is the Hadzabe tribe. The Hadzabe people are one of the only communities around the world that still living as hunter-gatherers. During your visit you will get a chance to go hunt with the men of the tribe, visit their temporary resident and watch their traditional dance.

Another tribe whom live in this area is the Datoga tribe. They are very skilled farmers. They own herds of cows, goats, donkeys, sheep, and raise chickens for their living. Another unique tribe around the lake are the Blacksmiths tribe. They are specialists of iron craft as they are creating jewelry and useful tools, also they provide the Hadzabe hunters Iron tips, knives and spears in exchange for honey and fruits. In your visit you will get know the Datoga and Blacksmiths people, and visit their market and see how making their iron crafts.

chemka hotspring

This beautiful mineral spring originates from Kilimanjaro ground waters The Chemka Hot Springs are about 40 kilometers away from Moshi, in the homonymous village called Chemka. They are underground springs with warm water. The water forms a clear and clean pond which is ideal for swimming. The pond is very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can see the bottom well all the time. The pond is situated under lush trees. On the shore you can camp, enjoy your snacks and let yourself dry after swimming.

The road to the Hot Springs is very bumpy and windy, so driving takes more than one hour. During the trip you can enjoy the wonderful scenery and see the authentic Tanzanian life. When we arrive at the Hot Springs you can swim, relax, eat your lunch and enjoy the sun. If you’d like, while you are swimming we can be preparing a barbecue for you. Additionally, if you desire, we can overnight at the Hot Springs with a camp fire and a bush dinner. Everywhere around the springs you can see baboons and different monkeys.

materuni daytour village

Materuni is one of the few villages of wonder in Northern Tanzania sitting at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The village is blessed with full of all the beauty worth much visiting for holiday, week-end outing or vacation. While in the village, scenic view of Moshi Town and Mount Kilimanjaro is astonishing. This green village with fresh air from green vegetation’s welcomes visitors to explore the beauty of the land and cultural heritage of the Chagga people.

This very impressive Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 70m into its basin. The beautiful path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500m above sea level It crosses valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, past coffee, banana and avocado “shambas”, the Kiswahili word for farms. On a clear day great views of Kibo and Moshi town can be seen. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended.
